WISDOM OF TEE SHIRTS

Do you have a favorite Tee Shirt?  Most of us have that special shirt or shirts that just feel good, and/or have special meanings.  If you are like me, you could line up your stash of Tee Shirts like a timeline of events and eras of your life's journey.  School shirts, shirts from camps and retreats, sports teams, give away shirts, and shirts with a special message.  I even have a shirt from the Inaugural Rock N' Roll 10K that became the Music City Marathon and is now the Rock N' Roll Marathon.  (And no, I did not run.  I was the announcer.)  Years ago I discovered "The Old Guys Rule Club".  This "club" is a tee shirt company that was started by some old "surfer dudes" in California.  I'm not a surfer, but I'm an "old dude" so I "joined".  Over the years my collection of "Old Guys" shirts of wisdom has grown.  Each shirt has fun witty wisdom.  "It took decades to look this good."  "Still hanging with the best of them."  "Age ain't nothing but a number."  "Rock of Ages...Pickin' and Grinnin', Rust Never Sleeps".  One that Patti got me, "If you don't know me, you're not from around here."  (It has become a Christmas tradition that I get a new shirt.)  And my favorite, which has become a motto in life, "The older I get, the better I was!"   

We all have messages.  Some are on tee shirts, sweatshirts (I love my FCC hoodies), hats, but our strongest message comes from our attitudes and actions.  So what is yours?  This Sunday we will be back in James looking at "what is my message."  I hope you will join us.  

In the meantime, I challenge us all to live the wisdom from the Tee Shirt that I saw yesterday while at Casey Jones Country Store...
