Touch the Sky ...

You are receiving this Communicator late.  The reason is Patti and I are in northern California visiting our youngest son.  And when I would normally get the Communicator out - we were on a plane or visiting some of the beauty of the west coast.  So thank you for your understanding.  Also, a special thank you to Michael Card for handling the message in Worship on Sunday morning.  We are blessed.

Chad is a professional photographer.  I am not!  I feel like I have made a major accomplishment when I can get a decent selfie.  I was taking a picture of our crew, Patti, Chad, Ben (Chad's buddy), and me.  The sun was bright and I was doing my best.  Chad says "touch the sky" so Patti and I start reaching for the clouds.  He and Ben laughed and quickly told me to touch the sky on my screen and it will take a better shot.  I learned something.  Here's a picture of "touching the sky" ... (Patti is doing it!)

I wonder how many "touch the sky" moments I have had but misunderstood with my Heavenly Father.  He has given us such an incredibly beautiful earth, filled with gorgeous settings, and even more special people.  Sometimes we need a "touch the sky" moment of simple instruction to truly appreciate and capture the beauty before us.  One of these moments is the reminder to "see through the eyes of Christ", which is capturing the goodness of those around us.  Looking through the lens of Love.   This week I challenge you to take advantage, and enjoy a "touch the sky moment".  You may be blown away by what you may see.    (Here is a shot of the sunset from the same location - after I had been given instruction and touched the sky)

I look forward to seeing you next week.  We will wrap up our study on 1 John and enjoy a "Fiesta Potluck following our time of Worship".  Don't forget Music in the Vale is coming soon.  We need everyone's help to make our biggest outreach event another successful, fun, music filled evening.  And speaking of music, Leigh Nash will be in concert tonight (Sunday) at the Franklin Theater.  Keep her in your prayers.

Patti and I will be returning home on Saturday.  (The Communicator may again be late...) Pray for our safe travels as well.  Until then, we are going to be visiting our son and enjoying God's beauty of the west.

Hope to see you Sunday!

And ALWAYS Remember...

YOU ARE LOVED!
