THRIVE IN '25!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
The New Year has begun. With the new year comes a feeling of a fresh start, and even for some, a new beginning. There is nothing magic about this time of the year. But since it is the beginning of the new calendar, our focus is often clearer and not as "cluttered". What a great time to refocus, renew, and recharge. And a great time to celebrate the gift of life and redemption from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is also a great time to challenge ourselves, individually and collectively, to strive to strengthen our faith and grow in our walk with the Lord.
As we begin 2025, we are filled with hope and purpose. We know that God has incredible plans for us. With that in mind, our theme and challenge this year is "Thrive in '25!" Let us grow deeper in our faith, stronger in our love, and bolder in our mission. And let us continue to be known as the Family of Believers who welcome and love all - just like Jesus.
Jesus reminds us in John 10:10 of His promise, "I have come that they have life, and have it to the full." Thriving isn't just about surviving, but living the full, abundant life that Christ offers to all of us. And ways for us to achieve this is to be "doers of the word, and not just hearers". To be active in our Faith and walk. Being rooted in His Word, empowered by His Spirit, and overflowing and even contagious with His Love.
"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8
The prophet Jeremiah in this passage beautifully captures the essence of thriving—staying rooted in God, flourishing even in challenging times, and bearing fruit that blesses others.
As we "Thrive in '25!", let us embrace His promises, serve one another, love our neighbors, be hospitable, encourage one another, and be welcoming to all. Let His Light shine through us in our community, through our Church, and in our individual lives. This is our year to Thrive - spiritually, missionally, and relationally - and to live life to the full!
(On a personal note, thank you for all of the prayers, texts, calls, cards, food, and more for Patti. Her surgery went great and she is in the process of physical therapy and healing. We both have felt and continue to feel and experience your love and support. Thank you!)
This Sunday is the first Sunday of 2025. What a great time to come together and worship. It is a great time for a fresh start for the new year. I look forward, weather permitting, to seeing you. And Always Remember...
You ARE Loved!
