IT'S HERE...COME JOIN THE FUN...
It is hard to believe but our biggest outreach and opportunity to love on our neighbors is here!! Music in the Vale is this Saturday. It is going to be an incredible time of music, food, and fun! I hope you will come and participate. And bring your friends, neighbors, and family to this Special Event.
Many folks have, and continue to, help make this event so special. Steve Turner and crew have put together an incredible line-up of music - and a variety of music (like Irish band). Several of our own talented folks will be sharing their talents, even in the middle of other gigs and concert tours. Thanks Leigh, Stephen, Jo, Michael, Kenny, Lee, Steve, and so many others. Matt Blount has led our communication campaign. Our banners look incredible. Our mailers (which I personally received two) are classic. And it is working. I saw a neighbor yesterday while shopping for MIV at Costco. They mentioned the mailer and that they are coming. Thanks to Ms. Val, aka "the Energizer Bunny" and Ms. Marsha, aka "Wonder Woman", both FCC's own unsung SuperHeroes! They have the Grace Center looking warm and welcoming. And the food responsibilities ready to go. Thank you to the Blount and Long families for painting the Grace Center. It looks so clean and fresh. Thank you to Mark and Gretchen Long who have spent hours with their hands in the dirt, or trips to the nursery, to get the Church looking so great. Not only does the flower box under the sign burst with fall colors, the Prayer Garden has a new, fresh, beautiful look as well. And thank you Pastor Lee who has been actively involved in all of these areas, leading by example. He does so much that most do not realize. I know I am missing someone, and I apologize. Please know that YOU are greatly loved and appreciated! It really does take everyone chipping in to make this such a successful event.
Why do we continue to have Music In the Vale every year? Great question. MIV began after the tornado destroyed the old, historic Church building. Originally it was a fundraiser as well as a thank you to the community and our neighbors for their love and support. So we continue to show thanks and love to our community and neighbors. And we raise funds, but for ministry opportunities that show the love of Christ. This year our focus is for two special ministries. Our local ministry, GraceWorks. Remember that this Saturday morning is the Food Pantry at Fairview Middle School. If you can help, please do. And our foreign ministry, Jesus Prince of Peace Ministries (School and orphanage in Uganda). Finally, MIV is a great outreach for our Church, especially with so many new folks moving into the area. Some of our most beloved FCC family members discovered FCC because of Music in the Vale. MIV is the biggest event that brings all of our FCC together - working together - on a common goal and purpose - showing love to our community, neighbors, and one another. It's special and unique to Fernvale Community Church.
Last night, while shopping for MIV, I stopped by Kroger (in Cool Springs). While checking out, I was speaking with the clerk. She mentioned that she had just moved here from Indiana and how they loved the area, especially Leiper's Fork. That was my cue...I told her about FCC and MIV and invited her to check it out. We even looked up the Church on her phone. She said she's coming. So, spread the word, invite, encourage, be involved, have fun, and experience the joy that this special event brings. I hope to see you there...and always Remember...
YOU ARE LOVED!
