IT WAS VERY GOOD...
Genesis 1:31 says "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good." And this statement comes right after God had created mankind in his own image and had given dominion over all of creation. Do you realize that the first responsibility that God gave us, as He celebrated creating us, was to be good stewards of His creation. He created the world for you and I to enjoy, and to take care of. What a great privilege! What an awesome responsibility! Today is "Earth Day", but really everyday should be Earth Day. Our family loves nature. We love the National Parks. My happy place is the Smoky Mountains. (Our picture above is from the Smoky Mountains Foothills Parkway). Our Church facility is beautiful and is located in one of the loveliest parts of Middle Tennessee - Fernvale. We are so blessed by our Creator who gave us so much beauty to enjoy. May we be faithful in our responsibilities in taking care of this gift. May others, now and in the future, be able to also take in the beauty of God's gift - creation, because we have done a good job in being its caretakers. And may our Heavenly Father when observing our actions continue to say "it is very good!"
Last Sunday was such a wonderful day. We again had a good turn out for Worship, with new folks visiting, and our potluck was scrumptious! Following our lunch, our Building & Grounds Committee met, walked around the Facility, and began to make a plan for repair, upkeep, and maintenance of our beautiful campus. Thank you to those who are helping us determine and prioritize our needs. And a special thanks to Pastor Lee for spearheading and leading this group. One of the key responsibilities is deciding what we can do versus what we need professionals to handle. There will be upcoming opportunities for folks to be involved in our maintenance and beautification of FCC.
Finally, I love our Church Family and the way that we care and love one another and welcome others. We are truly blessed. One of our dear Family members, Matt, had one of the craziest weeks of highs and lows that one could experience. As your Pastor, family member, and most of all friend, I want to encourage you to keep Matt and family in your prayers. Give this special brother and family a little extra love and encouragement.
What a blessing it truly is to be a part of God's Family, and to be a part of such a loving, caring family called Fernvale Community Church. As you come to Church Sunday, take time to take in the beauty of "the Vale" and thank God for this gift. And then join us as we worship and celebrate the gift of Life because of Christ. By the way, Sunday we will begin our study of the Fruits of the Spirit. The first one is LOVE. I hope to see you there! And Remember...
You ARE Loved!
