WHAT I REALLY NEED TO KNOW...
I cannot believe that "summer break" has come and gone. School is back in session. Infact, as I pen Lonnie's Lines, Patti is in the other room working on rosters, lesson plans, and the various many little tasks that most of us have no clue that teachers do. I have the privilege of not only being married to a teacher, but also working directly with many educators at various levels. They really are the unsung heroes! We have several professional educators in our Church family. Bill, Kelli, and Patti are back going strong. And let us not forget Ms. Val who is supposedly "retired" but still in the middle of things at the school. As well as Charity, who is a mom, wife, business owner, and homeschool teacher. I encourage you to pray for our students, teachers, administrators, and parents as the adventure of a new year has begun!
I used to have the above poster in my office. I love it! The author, Robert Fulghum, is a minister and author. He wrote a book "All I Really Need To Know I Learned in Kindergarten". This book, published in 1986, is filled with fifty short essays. Fulghum explains that the world would improve and be a better place if "adults adhered to the same basic rules as children". Fulghum says the essays were "written over many years and addressed to friends, family, a religious community, and myself, with no thought of publication in book form." I am glad he not only wrote the book, which is a good read .... but also gave us the cool poster - full of common sense truth. Enjoy...
And remember, the greatest Teacher that ever lived, Jesus, tells us to LOVE!
May this year be filled with "Kindergarten wisdom and kindness". May your world be full of wonder. And remember "Hold hands and stick together!"
Most of all, remember...
YOU ARE LOVED!
