NOW, THAT WAS GOOD!
Have you ever tried something new to eat and the flavor deliciously explodes in your mouth. It makes you smile. And you think, and maybe even say. "Wow, this is good!" Or maybe you read a book or saw a movie that you thought was fantastic and fun. Again, you might say, "Wow! This is good!" Or better yet, have you ever met someone that you just wanted to be around. They made you feel better about life. You may think to yourself, "Wow! He/she is good people!"
This past week Patti and I got to take a quick get away, celebrate the end of another successful school year, and extend celebrating her birthday. We decided to take a quick trip to some place that we had never been before. This place had always intrigued us, so we decided to check it out...St. Augustine, FL. And we are so glad that we did. We stayed at the beach.
We played on the beach. We ate all of our meals (except breakfast) outdoors. We ate a lot of shrimp, fish, and more shrimp. We got to enjoy the best pimento cheese grits - ever! And we explored the "oldest settlement" in America. We toured the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. Which is the oldest masonry fortification in the continental United States. It was built by the Spanish over 450 years ago and has never been lost in a battle or been seized in wartime. We drank from the Fountain of Youth discovered by Ponce de Leon - so, watch out!.
We had the privilege to meet a lot of wonderful, interesting people. Our favorite was Alesha who is the Breakfast Hostess at our Hampton Inn. When we walked in for breakfast we were always greeted with a genuine "Good Morning! How are you?" The beautiful smiling face of innocent interest would wait for our response. We visited with Alesha and discovered that this beautiful 22 year old had recently moved here from the Dominican Republic. She has been speaking English for a short period of time, and had gotten her job as the Breakfast Hostess because of her pleasant attitude and warm smile. Her manager told her she would do great! And he was right. Whether she was greeting you, filling an item, reloading coffee, no matter what, she was always happy. I even witnessed her going out of her way to meet dietary requests. She even made a special muffin "birthday cake" for a young man turning ten. Wow, she is GOOD!
There is just something about good people that make the world around them a better place! When you encounter someone who is good, let them know. It'll make your world better, and may even stimulate you to be a better person. I hope people say after they have spent time with you, "Wow, that was good!"
This Sunday we continue our study on the fruits of the Spirit. This week we are focusing on...GOODNESS. Please join us, and no matter what, alway remember...
You ARE Loved!
