AMAZING BEAUTY...
Have you noticed how beautiful things are looking these days! Trees are blooming, flowers are stretching their stalks out of the ground and waving "good morning" in the gentle wind.
Poet Charles A. Heath, in his poem "Daffodils"writes...
And now here come the daffodils,
The trumpeters of spring,
All tooting joy, which thrills and thrills,
The while again they bring
Their happiest note attuned with cheer
To tell that spring is truly here.
Spring is literally just around the corner. It arrives officially on Monday March 20. With the Spring season comes new life and beauty. A fresh start. God's pallet explodes with beauty reminding us that He, the Creator, truly is the best Artist of all time. And all of this beauty is for you and me to experience and enjoy. Isn't that awesome! God created the earth, acknowledging that it is good, just for you and I to enjoy while having fellowship with Him. It is another God gift that exemplifies His love and displays His glory! AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL!!
And you know what is even more beautiful than Spring? YOU!! Despite what you may think, you are amazing, beautiful, unique, and irreplaceable! Do not ever forget that!! You are the only part of God's creation that is made in His Image. And He is absolutely beautiful! And you look so much like Him!!
In 1971, when I was a youth, Pastor and Comedian Grady Nutt wrote a book that changed my life. It is called "Being Me" and at the bottom of the cover says "SELF, YOU BUG ME". The whole book is built around the sentence: "I am a person of worth created in the image of God to relate and to live!" And this simple statement is so true.
I challenge you that as we experience Spring and the new, freshness of life, that you (and me) make the effort to do the same thing personally. Maybe it is time to put away some old habits and begin to grow, healthy, towards being the person that God intends us to be. Remember, God makes no junk! He makes no mistakes!! And you are one of his proudest works of art. A true "Masterpiece!" And you have been created to relate and to LIVE"! Life is an ongoing journey, but the ride can be extremely exciting, encouraging, and fun!! So, let's LIVE BIG!
Remember, this is "time change weekend" so "spring forward'! Tomorrow we will continue our look at Philippians. And don't forget it is POTLUCK SUNDAY! I hope you will join us for Bible Study, Worship, and definitely stay and break bread together!! And as always, no matter the circumstances, remember you are a Masterpiece and ...
You Are Loved,
Pastor Lonnie
