JUST LISTEN...
You are receiving this Communicator very late on Saturday. That is my fault and I apologize. I have been in Hattiesburg, MS participating in the Mississippi Music Educators Association Annual Conference, and I just got back in town. And had a surprise dinner with one of our former youth and "adopted children" and her family. It has been a full but fun week.
One of my favorite times at the MMEA is the "Sing Along". Music Professionals, most who teach in the public schools or Universities, from all over the State come together in an Auditorium setting and sing. The majority of the songs are Hymns (some in English and some in Latin). Beautiful harmonies filled the room. Ironically, everyone was sight reading the pieces. Even your Pastor was sight reading and participating. And I have not sight read in literally decades. Honestly, I often quit singing and just listened to the incredible music. It was breathtaking.
When was that last time that you listened and had your breath taken away? Oftentimes we miss the unbelievable beauty of God's goodness because we are too busy and/or our environment is filled with distracting noise. As we prepare for the celebration of the greatest gift ever given and the Holiday (and Holy Day) that changed mankind for eternity - Easter, I invite and encourage you to turn off the noise and just listen. It can be beautiful, encouraging, and even life changing.
I hope you will join us this Sunday. It is going to be a special service. Charity will be leading our Worship. Michael Card will be giving us some insights that will help us prepare for Easter, and so much more.
Finally speaking of Music, our beloved and talented Pastor and Worship Leader had a procedure on his hand this past week. It seems that everything went well, but please continue to keep him in your prayers as he heals. And also our own talented Stephen W. Wilson will be playing on the Grand Ole Opry on Wednesday, April 5. Please let me know if you are interested in going as a group from FCC to support him. It will mean a lot to Stephen, and the show will be incredible.
Again, I apologize about the tardiness of the Communicator...but I know you understand. I hope to see you in a few hours!! And Remember...
You ARE Loved!
Pastor Lonnie
