A TIME TO CELEBRATE!
Currently Patti and I are in Trenton, GA to celebrate the wedding of close family friends. In fact, I will be officiating the ceremony. The venue is outside on a beautiful mountain. One of God's natural cathedrals. It has been a fun day of Celebration.
When was the last time you really celebrated? The first miracle of Jesus recorded in the Scriptures was at a wedding. This is when Jesus, at the request of his mother, turned the water into wine. This wine was consumed toward the end of the celebration and everyone was blown away by the quality of this special wine. It was praised by everyone. I love the fact that the first miracle was recorded at an event that symbolizes an important Covenant, relationship, partnership between God, husband and wife. What a great reason to celebrate!!
There are many analogies that can be gained from the study of this first miracle. However, one of the main one, and one that is often forgotten, is that as Followers of Christ, we have a reason to celebrate, more than anyone, and to celebrate BIG every day. The Passion Translation of Philippians 4:4 says "Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life."
Most of you know that one of my main mottos of life is "Celebrate Big...Real Big!" (My son says that if I ever had a tombstone that is what would be written on it.) And I hope that most of the time I am living it. Life is too good not too. And our time on this side of glory needs for us to exemplify reasons to Celebrate. So, Celebrate and do it Big...Real Big!!
Well, I would love to share more, but I need to get back to celebrating this big event - the wedding. Patti and I will head back early Sunday morning so we can continue to celebrate with you!
I really do hope that you will be able to celebrate with us this Sunday as we worship together, study God's Word, and then enjoy breaking bread at our "Tailgate Potluck". It is going to be an incredible Sunday, and even better if you are there!
And ALWAYS Remember...
YOU ARE LOVED!
